The Opportunity

A growing Banking team is seeking a Solicitor to join in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior to mid-level lawyer to gain exposure to a broad range of financing transactions while working closely with experienced partners and a diverse client base.

The team advises lenders, corporates and sponsors on tailored funding solutions across a variety of sectors, supporting everything from acquisitions and refinancings through to project and asset-based finance.

The Team

The Banking & Finance team works collaboratively across offices, combining technical expertise with a highly commercial approach. Lawyers are encouraged to develop strong client relationships and take ownership of matters early, while benefiting from structured supervision and support.

The practice is known for its practical, solutions-driven advice and its ability to deliver innovative funding structures that reflect clients’ commercial objectives.

The Role

Depending on experience, you will be involved in advising on a wide range of banking and finance matters, including:

  • Leveraged finance and acquisition finance
  • Real estate finance transactions
  • Project and development finance
  • Asset-based lending and security structures
  • Supporting transactions from inception through to completion
  • Working closely with colleagues to share knowledge and best practice
  • Contributing to client development and cross-referral opportunities

About You

  • Qualified solicitor with 0–4 years’ PQE
  • Experience in banking and finance, with some exposure to leveraged and/or real estate finance
  • Strong drafting and technical skills
  • Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-focused
  • Confident working collaboratively within a team environment
  • Proactive, organised and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable building and maintaining client relationships
