Clinical Negligence Solicitor
The Opportunity
A well-regarded full-service law firm is seeking a Clinical Negligence Solicitor (1–5 years’ PQE) to join its Birmingham-based defendant clinical negligence team.
This is an excellent opportunity to act for NHS bodies, insurers, and other defendant organisations, working on a varied caseload of pre-action and litigated clinical negligence matters. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team known for its technical strength, pragmatic approach, and commitment to high-quality client service.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of defendant clinical negligence matters from inception through to resolution.
- Drafting statements of case, witness statements, and expert instructions.
- Advising clients on liability, causation, quantum, and strategy.
- Handling claims under the Pre-Action Protocol for the Resolution of Clinical Disputes.
- Liaising with counsel, medical experts, and client stakeholders.
- Supporting senior lawyers on complex and high-value matters as required.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor with 1–5 years’ PQE in clinical negligence or related defendant personal injury work.
- Strong understanding of civil procedure and pre-action protocols.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and case management skills.
- Commercially minded with a calm, pragmatic approach to dispute resolution.
- Confident communicator who works well with clients and colleagues alike.
