The Role
Our client, a leading national law firm, is recruiting for a dedicated Grade C Medical Negligence Solicitor based in their Sheffield office. Working under the leadership of an experienced partner, you will be managing a diverse caseload of medical negligence claims, from moderate to complex cases across South Yorkshire and the East Midlands. You will be responsible for handling cases independently, from instruction through to settlement, including assisting with high-value matters alongside senior colleagues. The role offers an opportunity to work on life-changing claims such as cerebral palsy, spinal injuries, cancer misdiagnosis, and fatal claims, with support and mentorship from a highly experienced team.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of medical negligence matters of moderate complexity and value, from initial instruction through to resolution

Assist senior team members with high-value, complex cases, including catastrophic injury claims

Identify key legal and medical issues, providing practical and empathetic advice to clients

Secure interim payments to support clients' rehabilitation and care needs where appropriate

Support the team in maintaining high standards of client care and legal excellence
About You
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with at least Grade C level in medical negligence law. They should have demonstrated experience managing cases of moderate complexity, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong case management skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to provide clear legal guidance to clients are essential. A passion for medical negligence and a keen interest in developing your expertise within this specialised area will also be highly valued.
