Sacco Mann is currently assisting a highly regarded, Top 100 ranked law firm in Manchester in the recruitment of a Commercial Solicitor to join a growing and well-respected Commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Solicitor to take on a varied, high-quality caseload while playing a key role in the continued development of the department.
The Role
Working as part of a dynamic and forward-thinking Commercial team, you will manage your own broad caseload while also supporting on complex, high-value transactions. The work is diverse and often cross-border, acting for a range of high-profile and entrepreneurial clients across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a varied caseload of commercial matters including:
- Collaboration and strategic partnership agreements
- Joint venture and shareholder agreements
- Distribution, agency and franchise agreements
- Outsourcing and services agreements
- Supply of goods and services contracts
- IT agreements including SaaS, software licensing and development agreements
- Intellectual Property licensing and exploitation agreements
- Data protection agreements and GDPR compliance advice
- E-commerce terms, website terms and consumer compliance documentation
- Advising on commercial risk, liability structuring and contract negotiation strategy
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial contracts on behalf of clients
- Supporting corporate and employment teams on the commercial aspects of M&A transactions
- Advising on data protection compliance, international data transfers and information governance frameworks
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted advisor
- Contributing to business development initiatives, networking events and client seminars
- Assisting with the supervision and mentoring of junior solicitors and trainees
The successful Solicitor will have:
- 5+ years PQE within Commercial Law
- Strong experience in IT, Intellectual Property and Data Protection matters
- A solid understanding of contract law and commercial risk management
- Experience negotiating directly with counterparties and stakeholders
- A proactive and commercially minded approach
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
