Construction Litigation Solicitor

Construction Solicitor | Excellent Work | Birmingham | Highly Flexible Environment

This is a really good opportunity for a junior to mid-level construction disputes solicitor who wants high-quality work without sacrificing flexibility.

The firm is a well-regarded commercial practice with a strong reputation in construction litigation, and they’re looking to add to their national team. You’ll have genuine flexibility here – not just hybrid on paper, but the freedom to choose where you work (home or office) and even which office base suits you best, including Birmingham.

The work itself is high calibre, but what makes this stand out is the culture. There’s a clear focus on work-life balance, which isn’t always the case at this level.

The role
You’ll be working closely with a recognised Construction Litigation Partner, supporting on complex, high-value disputes while also running your own matters (depending on experience).

The caseload is broad and interesting – covering the full range of construction disputes, including adjudications, defect claims, and larger project/PFI-PPP related work.

There’s also scope to get involved in client-facing work early on, including building relationships and supporting business development (training, seminars, etc.), if that’s something you’re keen on.

What they’re looking for

  • 1–5 years’ PQE with solid contentious construction experience
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills
  • Comfortable managing your own workload
  • Confident communicator, happy dealing directly with clients
  • PFI/PPP experience is a bonus, but not essential
  • Someone who wants to be part of a high-performing, growing team

What’s on offer

  • Genuinely flexible working (not just lip service)
  • Supportive, collaborative team environment
  • Clear progression and development opportunities
  • Competitive salary, bonus and benefits package
  • Good pension and holiday allowance
