Construction is at the core of this UK law firm’s practice, and its team enjoys a formidable reputation across the industry. The firm advises on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious construction matters, acting for both private and public sector developers. Their expertise spans all major standard form contracts (JCT, NEC, ICE, FIDIC, PPC, GC Works), as well as PFI and bespoke agreements.
Based in London, you will join a national construction team, working alongside colleagues across other UK offices and closely with the real estate practice. The role offers exposure to high-value projects, complex advisory matters, and collaboration with developers, major international and domestic contractors, consultants, and public sector bodies including central and local government and social housing providers.
What You’ll Be Doing
Depending on experience and interests, you will work on a variety of construction matters, including:

Advising on alternative dispute resolution: adjudication, mediation, pre-action protocol claims, litigation, and arbitration.

Providing dispute avoidance and risk management advice.

Advising on contractual interpretation, drafting, and professional negligence matters.

Handling domestic construction projects, with opportunities to contribute to international matters.

Working closely with colleagues across offices and practice areas on integrated client matters.

Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the firm’s profile in the market.

Building and maintaining strong client relationships.

Ensuring files are managed in line with Lexcel standards.

Participating in departmental and firm-wide training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
What You’ll Need

Qualified solicitor with 1–5 years’ PQE in construction law, either contentious or non-contentious.

Experience in adjudication, UK construction law, or international arbitration is highly desirable.

Knowledge of major construction standard form contracts, including JCT, FIDIC, and NEC.

Strong client focus and demonstrable business development potential.

Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills.

A proactive, flexible, and collaborative approach with drive and enthusiasm.

Ability to manage files independently and work on high-value, complex matters.
