Defendant Clinical Negligence Solicitor | 1+PQE | Manchester | Hybrid Working

A leading, Tier 1 Healthcare team is seeking a skilled Defendant Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join their Manchester based team. Recently awarded Investors in People Gold, the team is known for its strong culture of engagement, high-quality work and collaborative approach. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-profile healthcare matters within an international practice.

You will work closely with a Partner advising on a broad range of healthcare matters for clients including public and private hospitals, healthcare suppliers, insurers and public health authorities, including:

  • Representation at inquests.
  • Regulatory proceedings involving clinicians.
  • Medical device and product liability claims.
  • General healthcare advisory work.

As a Defendant Clinical Negligence Solicitor, you will:

  • Apply strong technical legal skills to complex healthcare matters.
  • Draft and interpret complex legal documentation.
  • Advise on claims involving breaches of professional standards.
  • Liaise with clients, witnesses and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare court and trial documents.
  • Present at seminars, contribute to publications and host client events.
  • Develop client relationships and identify business development opportunities.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the wider international practice and collaborate across teams.
  • Manage client expectations and strategic objectives.

Skills & Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year PQE.
  • Strong legal ability with the confidence to manage a varied caseload.
  • Significant experience in defendant clinical negligence / medical malpractice work.
  • Experience handling complex, high-value and multi-million-pound claims.
