Defendant EL/PL Lawyer | 3+ Years PQE | Hybrid Working |

A top-tier international firm are currently seeking a talented Defendant EL/PL Lawyer to join their liability defence team based in Leeds. In this role you will work on complex and high-value EL/PL cases for major insurer, public sector, and corporate clients.

You will handle a varied caseload of multi-track claims, including employers’ and public liability matters, property-related disputes, product liability, and catastrophic injury claims while working closely with market-leading partners on high-profile and strategically important cases.

If you’re commercially minded, thrive on technical complexity, and want exposure to sophisticated, non-volume work — this is the perfect next move.

As a Defendant EL/PL Lawyer, you will:

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of EL/PL and casualty claims, from pre-litigation through to trial.
  • Assist partners with high-value, multi-track and catastrophic injury cases.
  • Advise on policy coverage issues and strategic litigation approaches.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships with leading insurers, loss adjusters, and large corporates.
  • Collaborate with a national team recognised for excellence in defendant personal injury and insurance litigation.

The ideal candidate:

  • 3+ years’ PQE with strong defendant insurance experience.
  • Proven background in employers’ and public liability or wider casualty work.
  • Confident in handling multi-track cases and contributing to larger complex claims.
  • Excellent technical, communication and client-handling skills.
  • A proactive, pragmatic and solution-driven approach to litigation.

What’s on offer:

  • The chance to handle technically challenging, non-volume, high-quality work.
  • Exposure to top-tier insurer and corporate clients.
  • A collaborative, supportive environment that values development and innovation.
  • Excellent training, mentoring and career progression opportunities.
  • Flexible hybrid working arrangements and a genuine focus on work–life balance.

If you are a Defendant EL/PL Lawyer in Leeds ready to work on high-calibre casualty cases with one of the UK’s most respected defendant teams, we want to hear from you! You can apply to this advert or contact Nadine Ali at Sacco Mann with any further questions on the role.
