EL/PL Fee Earner | Newcastle | Hybrid Working |
We are working with a well-regarded firm in Newcastle who are seeking a skilled EL/PL Fee Earner to join their supportive team, managing portal-exited and non-portal fast-track personal injury claims. You will take ownership of your own caseload, working on cases from initial instruction right through to settlement or trial.
As an EL/PL Fee Earner, you will:
- Handle a varied EL/PL caseload with autonomy and confidence.
- Instruct and liaise with medical experts and other specialists.
- Assess liability, gathering evidence, and building strong cases.
- Negotiate with insurers, solicitors, Counsel, courts and other parties.
- Value claims including PSLA, loss of earnings, care claims, and more.
- Draft Schedules of Special Damages.
- Issue proceedings and progress Part 7 litigation through to trial where needed.
- Prepare detailed trial bundles and brief counsel.
- Support colleagues and contribute positively to the wider team.
The ideal candidate:
- Minimum of 2 years’ EL/PL case handling experience, including litigation.
- Strong working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules.
- Excellent drafting skills and understanding of quantum.
- Strong organisational ability with a proactive, positive approach.
- High attention to detail and outstanding client care skills.
- Confidence communicating clearly at all levels.
- The ability to manage competing deadlines effectively.
- A collaborative, team-focused mindset.
