Employment Partner - Birmingham

Employment Partner

The Opportunity

An ambitious and fast-growing national firm is seeking to appoint an Employment Partner in Birmingham. This is a key role within a well-established team that continues to expand, offering high-quality work, long-term stability and the support of a firm known for its low staff turnover and people-focused culture.

You will already be well regarded in the Birmingham employment market and bring with you an established client following. Ideally, this will be sufficient to cover costs in year one, with the firm providing the platform and resources to help you significantly grow your practice from there.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising employers on the full range of contentious and non-contentious employment law issues.

  • Managing matters such as dismissals, grievances, discrimination claims, TUPE, contracts and policies.

  • Providing employment law input on corporate transactions including mergers, acquisitions and restructurings.

  • Building and developing strong, long-term client relationships, supported by a national network of colleagues and referrers.

  • Playing a senior role in the Birmingham office and supporting the development of junior lawyers.

What we’re looking for

  • An experienced employment lawyer, currently at Partner or Legal Director level.

  • A strong reputation in the Birmingham market with a demonstrable client following.

  • Confident across both tribunal work and advisory mandates.

  • Commercially astute, client-focused and collaborative.

  • Ambition to play a central part in the team’s future growth and success.

What’s on offer

  • A senior role within a highly respected national employment practice.

  • High-quality client base, including major corporates, SMEs and owner-managed businesses.

  • Scope to step into leadership responsibilities as part of succession planning.

  • Competitive remuneration and Partner-level benefits.

  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.

  • A supportive and forward-thinking culture where progression is genuinely achievable.
