Employment Solicitor

Our client, a highly regarded boutique employment law practice, is looking for an Employment Solicitor to join their vibrant team in Leeds city centre. Whether you're recently qualified or a more experienced lawyer with several years PQE already, your attitude and motivation are what matter most. Ideally, you will be able to work with some autonomy on matters, seeking out support when required. The role involves managing a diverse range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters for a respondent client base across various sectors, alongside delivering employment and HR training sessions to clients. The firm encourages its lawyers to develop their advocacy skills and offers a flexible hybrid working policy, blending office time with remote work.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being client-facing and is eager to take ownership of their work in a supportive, approachable environment.

About the role and firm

  • Manage a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

The ideal candidate

  • Open to lawyers with a range of experience, from c. 1 year PQE to approximately 6 years PQE, perhaps more. 
  • Experience or interest in respondent employment work, with a willingness to learn and develop into contentious and training roles.
  • Candidates with claimant employment experience are encouraged to apply if they are interested in shifting focus to respondent-side work.
  • A self-starter with strong organisational skills, enthusiasm, and integrity.
  • Excellent client-facing skills with the ability to communicate effectively and confidently.
  • Energetic, personable, and comfortable working in a team-oriented environment.
