A leading national law firm is seeking an Employment Solicitor (1-4yrs PQE) to join its highly regarded Employment team, recognised as a Top Tier practice in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. The team is a market leader in healthcare and public sector work, acting for high-profile clients including the NHS, independent healthcare organisations, housing providers, local authorities and a growing portfolio of commercial clients.

The Role:

You will join the national healthcare employment practice, working closely with partner leads across the firm’s substantial health and care client base. This includes NHS organisations, independent healthcare providers, care operators and voluntary sector bodies. You will:

  • Take on a broad mix of contentious, advisory and transactional work.

  • Act on complex employment litigation, from tribunals through to High Court matters.

  • Provide strategic workforce planning and change management advice.

  • Support on TUPE transfers and employment elements of corporate transactions and reorganisations.

  • Work as part of multi-disciplinary teams across the firm, including commercial, regulatory and information law specialists, to deliver a joined-up service.

  • Help build the team’s profile in other growing sectors such as higher education, finance, housing and insurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a varied caseload of employment matters, including advisory and some contentious work, with supervision and guidance from senior team members.

  • Support partners and senior associates on complex and high-value cases, assisting with research, drafting documents, and preparation for hearings.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing timely, practical advice and support.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the team and wider firm to deliver coordinated, high-quality legal services.

  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team

Ideal Person:

  • 1–4+ years’ PQE in employment law (Associate or Senior Associate level).

  • Healthcare or public sector experience is essential, ideally including knowledge of NHS workforce/contractual frameworks.

  • Skilled in handling complex employment litigation and advisory matters.
