Family Lawyer | Staffordshire | Children Focus | Flexible working

The Opportunity

A well-established regional law firm is seeking a Children’s Law Solicitor to join its dedicated family law team in Staffordshire. This role offers the opportunity to focus on public and private children matters, working closely with families, local authorities and guardians on sensitive and often complex cases.

You’ll be part of a supportive practice that places real value on quality advocacy, client care and professional development, offering a balanced workload and a collaborative working environment.

The Role

You will handle a varied caseload of children-related matters, which may include:

  • Public and private law children proceedings
  • Care, supervision and emergency protection orders
  • Representing parents, guardians and other parties
  • Advising on safeguarding, welfare and procedural issues
  • Preparing cases for court and attending hearings
  • Working closely with external professionals and agencies

The role can be tailored to your level of experience, with supervision and mentoring available where needed.

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor (or Legal Executive) with experience in children law
  • Comfortable managing sensitive cases with empathy and professionalism
  • Strong advocacy, drafting and communication skills
  • Able to work independently while contributing to a close-knit team
  • Committed to delivering high standards of client care

Children Panel membership is welcomed but not essential

What’s on Offer

  • A role focused on children law rather than general family work
  • Supportive and approachable team culture
  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Hybrid or flexible working options
  • Opportunities for training and long-term career development
  • A manageable caseload with emphasis on quality, not volume
