The Role
- Managing a varied caseload of private family law matters
- Advising clients on divorce, separation, and financial settlements
- Handling private children matters, including Child Arrangements Orders
- Drafting legal documents, court applications, and consent orders
- Representing clients at hearings, directions, appointments, and negotiations
- Providing clear, practical, and sensitive legal advice tailored to individual circumstances
- Supporting clients through complex and often emotional situations
- Contributing to the continued growth and reputation of the Family Department

Key Responsibilities
- Running your own caseload of family matters from instruction through to conclusion
- Managing divorce and financial remedy proceedings
- Advising on private children matters and related disputes
- Preparing court documentation, statements, and bundles
- Conducting negotiations and representing clients at court hearings
- Maintaining high standards of client care and compliance
- Achieving fee-earning targets and contributing to departmental performance
- Building and maintaining strong professional relationships within the local area
About You
The ideal candidate will be proactive, client-focused, and ready to make an impact. You will have:
- Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) with solid experience in Family Law
- Proven ability to handle private family matters independently
- Strong advocacy and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach
- Ability to build trust and rapport with clients
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Commercial awareness and commitment to achieving targets
