You will work within a national team of over 100 lawyers known for their depth of expertise, strong values, and high-profile, complex caseloads. The role offers the chance to lead and advise on sensitive inquests, shape healthcare law policy, and represent clients at the heart of decision-making in health and social care.

As a Healthcare Inquests Senior Associate, you will be:

  • Acting on inquests, including advocacy where appropriate.
  • Advising on healthcare-related public law issues, including governance, consultation, and judicial review.
  • Providing expert input on patient care issues, complaints, SI reviews, and Ombudsman investigations.
  • Supporting clients with matters involving mental health law, care standards, and information governance.
  • Developing client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand service offerings.

What we’re looking for:

  • A qualified Solicitor with significant inquests experience (including advocacy).
  • Background in healthcare law or public sector law.
  • Excellent communication, drafting, and client care skills.
  • Team-oriented, proactive, and commercially aware.
  • Willingness to travel for hearings and client meetings as required.
  • Other desirable experience includes court of protection experience, knowledge of NHS structures or the social care sector, and public inquiries or judicial review work.

Why join?

This is more than just a legal role; it’s a chance to:

  • Work at the forefront of healthcare law and public interest cases.
  • Be part of a genuinely award-winning team recognised as one of the best in the sector.
  • Shape healthcare practices and policy at a national level.
  • Enjoy a culture that values flexibility, autonomy, and development.
  • Access a comprehensive benefits package, including:
    • A generous bonus scheme
    • Private medical insurance
    • Charity/pro bono days
    • Generous parental policies
    • Emergency care support
    • Enhanced pension and financial wellbeing schemes
    • Hybrid working & ‘Dress for your day’ policy
    • Bespoke career development and leadership training
