About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor to join a well-established Industrial Disease team based in Birmingham. The role focuses on defendant work, acting for a range of insurers and corporate clients, and offers an excellent balance of high-quality work, flexibility and long-term career development.

The team handles a broad spread of industrial disease claims, with a particular emphasis on noise induced hearing loss (NIHL) matters. You will be trusted with responsibility for your own caseload while being supported by experienced senior lawyers and a collaborative wider team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing a caseload of industrial disease claims, primarily NIHL matters
  • Acting for defendant clients, including insurers and self-insured organisations
  • Reviewing medical and expert evidence and advising on liability, causation and quantum
  • Drafting pleadings, witness statements and schedules
  • Working closely with colleagues to deliver pragmatic and commercially focused outcomes

About You

You will ideally have:

  • Experience handling noise induced hearing loss claims (essential)
  • A background in defendant or claimant industrial disease work
  • Strong technical ability and a practical approach to case management
  • Confidence managing files with appropriate supervision
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
