The Role

An opportunity now exists for a hands-on, commercially focussed UK qualified solicitor to join the expanding In-house legal team, working alongside the Head of Legal from their West Yorkshire HQ (hybrid working 2 days in office).  You’ll will work closely with multiple teams across the business to advise on commercial contracts and help the business to navigate complex legal issues whilst enabling growth.


Day to day responsibilities will include; drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including customer agreements, supplier terms, and service-level agreements as well as being active in advising on contract interpretation, risk mitigation and legal implications of business decisions.

 

You’ll collaborate with internal teams, including Sales, Procurement, Compliance, Product, Insurance and Finance, to provide pragmatic legal advice and contribute to the development of legal templates and internal training.

 

The Person

You’re likely a qualified solicitor with at least 2-5 years post-qualification legal experience in commercial law, with proven experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. Any working knowledge of Data Protection would be extremely useful, but not essential.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across all levels of the business is essential, as is a proactive mindset, capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities for differing businesses.
