The Opportunity

A well-established regional firm is looking to recruit a newly qualified Commercial Litigation Solicitor into its Birmingham office. As part of a thriving regional practice, you will gain hands-on experience acting for a varied client base that includes corporates, SMEs, and owner-managed businesses across a broad range of sectors. Key Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on a wide spectrum of commercial disputes, both contractual and statutory.

  • Assisting on complex litigation in the High Court as well as alternative dispute resolution including mediation and arbitration.

  • Drafting pleadings, witness statements, correspondence and settlement agreements.

  • Running your own smaller matters under supervision while supporting senior colleagues on larger disputes.

  • Building trusted client relationships and contributing to business development activities.

  • Working closely with colleagues across the firm’s corporate, commercial and regulatory teams.

What we’re looking for

  • Newly qualified solicitor (or trainee approaching qualification) with a seat in commercial litigation or another relevant disputes area.

  • Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to grasp complex issues quickly.

  • Excellent drafting and communication skills.

  • Team-focused, collaborative and eager to learn.

  • Commercially aware, with the confidence to engage directly with clients.
