Heavyweight IP practice is keen to welcome a talented Patent Administrator into their collegiate Birmingham office. This is a fantastic opportunity if you have some experience in the IP space or work in an administrative capacity in a professional services environment.

 

The Role

You’ll play a pivotal role supporting fee earners and high-profile clients managing patent formalities throughout the patent process, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements, and supporting the IP team in daily administrative duties, such as managing patent applications, correspondence, and documentation, maintaining meticulous records, and liaising with international patent offices.

 

Skills You Need

Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach are essential to thrive in this position, along with:

  • Proven experience in formalities, particularly within patent formalities, or administrative experience within a professional services environment
  • Strong understanding of patent procedures and requirements
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and patent offices
  • Proactive, organised and highly detail-oriented with a methodical approach to work
