The Opportunity

A well-established large regional law firm is seeking a Pensions Solicitor to join its growing Birmingham-based Pensions team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a broad range of high-quality pensions matters for a diverse client base, including employers, trustees, and corporate clients. The role offers exposure to complex advisory and transactional work within a supportive and collaborative environment, making it ideal for a lawyer looking to deepen their pensions expertise while progressing their career within a respected firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising employers and trustees on a wide range of occupational pensions issues, including scheme governance, funding, and regulatory matters.
  • Supporting corporate transactions on pensions aspects, including due diligence and risk mitigation.
  • Advising on scheme changes, closures, wind-ups, and benefit restructurings.
  • Drafting and reviewing pensions documentation, including deeds, rules, and member communications.
  • Keeping clients informed on legislative and regulatory developments affecting pension schemes.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across employment, corporate, and restructuring teams.

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor with 4–8 years’ PQE in pensions law.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience advising on occupational pension schemes.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to deliver clear, pragmatic advice.
  • Confident communicator with strong drafting and analytical skills.
  • A team-oriented lawyer keen to contribute to a growing pensions practice within a large regional firm.
