A rare opportunity has arisen for a driven Solicitor to join a high-performing, Legal 500-recognised team in Manchester that advises on complex, high-value disputes across the professional indemnity, liability, and policy coverage landscape.
Working as part of a specialist legal team within a wider group operating across the UK and internationally, you’ll help represent key insurance clients in sectors ranging from construction and engineering to technology, care, and non-profit organisations.
As a Professional Indemnity Solicitor, you will:
- Handle a varied caseload of professional indemnity and liability claims from initial instruction to resolution.
- Advise on coverage disputes, liability, quantum, and strategic resolution options.
- Support senior lawyers on multi-million-pound claims involving policyholders such as accountants, IT providers, engineers, and more.
- Take a lead role on lower-value cases, with the chance to own strategy and client engagement.
- Contribute to team growth by nurturing client relationships and exploring new areas of legal and commercial opportunity.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.
What we are looking for:
- 1-5 years’ PQE, ideally with a focus on insurance law, professional negligence, or property liability claims.
- Strong understanding of insurance/policy coverage issues and the dynamics of insurer-insured relationships.
- Comfortable managing a caseload independently while working as part of a team.
- Excellent skills in drafting, negotiation, and client reporting.
- An interest in exploring subrogated recoveries or developing broader commercial acumen in the insurance sector.
- Confidence in dealing with a wide range of counterparties from litigants in person to corporate law firms.
