Residential Development | Leeds | 1-5 PQE | Hybrid working in growing national practice
We are seeking a Residential Development Solicitor to join a thriving national legal practice based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, with the added flexibility of hybrid working. The ideal candidate will have around 1-5 years of experience working on residential development matters, either entirely or as part of a wider commercial property caseload.
The Opportunity
Joining a rapidly growing national law firm, in this role, you will play a key part in supporting residential land development projects by advising clients on land acquisitions, disposals, and related legal matters. Your responsibilities will include working on site acquisitions, site assembly, and disposals for regional and national developers, conducting full due diligence, drafting various legal documents such as reports, contracts, options, building leases, promotion agreements, transfers, and overage agreements. You will also assist in business development activities and help strengthen external relationships. Working closely with Partners and the wider team, you will ensure smooth project delivery, maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal developments, and delegate tasks where appropriate to trainee solicitors and paralegals.
About You
- 1-5 years PQE in Real Estate, with some solid exposure to residential property development
- Experience advising on land acquisitions, disposals, and associated legal documents
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet challenging deadlines
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated commercial awareness and sound judgement
- Experience in drafting a variety of legal agreements, including reports, contracts, leases, and agreements
- Pro-active, enthusiastic, and adaptable attitude
- Effective time management and administrative skills, including diary management
- Ability to work efficiently within multi-disciplinary teams
- Enthusiasm for business development and client relationship management
