A leading national firm is looking to appoint a Senior Commercial Contracts Solicitor (7+ PQE) to join its highly regarded commercial team in Birmingham. This is a rare opportunity to work on some of the most high-profile and complex commercial projects in the UK, often valued in the billions and frequently featured in the news.
The team advises central government departments and major public bodies as part of an exclusive panel, handling large-scale, strategically important contracts. The work regularly involves the Model Services Contract and other major outsourcing, infrastructure and technology arrangements. It’s challenging, high-impact and genuinely exciting – the kind of work few firms can offer.
Key Responsibilities

Leading on large-scale, high-value commercial contracts, often involving central government and major public bodies.

Advising on the full lifecycle of complex outsourcing, technology, and infrastructure projects.

Drafting and negotiating Model Services Contracts and related documentation.

Managing and supervising junior team members on significant national projects.

Working closely with clients to deliver commercially focused, pragmatic advice.

Playing an active role in business development and client relationship management.
What we’re looking for

Experienced commercial lawyer (7+ PQE as a guide) with a strong background in large-scale contracts.

Solid experience working with public sector or central government clients preferred.

Excellent drafting, negotiation and project management skills.

Confident leading major transactions and mentoring junior colleagues.
