The Opportunity
A well-regarded regional law firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join its established team near Birmingham.
This is an excellent opportunity to take a key role within a growing department, managing a broad range of private client matters and working closely with a supportive team of specialists. The position offers strong prospects for progression, autonomy over your own files, and the chance to build lasting client relationships within a trusted, reputable practice.
You’ll work on a range of matters including wills, probate, estate administration, LPAs, trusts, tax planning, and elderly client work, acting for a diverse client base across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of private client matters from instruction to completion.
- Advise clients on wills, probate, trusts, inheritance tax planning, and capacity-related issues.
- Prepare wills, LPAs, trust documentation, and estate accounts.
- Administer estates, including complex and high-value estates where required.
- Provide clear, empathetic, and practical legal advice aligned with clients’ personal and financial objectives.
- Contribute to business development activities and the ongoing growth of the department.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified Solicitor with 4+ PQE in private client law (STEP qualification or working towards it is advantageous).
- Strong technical knowledge of wills, probate, trusts, and estate planning.
- Excellent drafting, communication, and client care skills.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload independently with strong attention to detail.
- Commercially aware, organised, and proactive in driving matters forward.
- A collaborative team player with a compassionate, client-focused approach.
