The Opportunity

A well-regarded regional law firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join its established team near Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity to take a key role within a growing department, managing a broad range of private client matters and working closely with a supportive team of specialists. The position offers strong prospects for progression, autonomy over your own files, and the chance to build lasting client relationships within a trusted, reputable practice.

You’ll work on a range of matters including wills, probate, estate administration, LPAs, trusts, tax planning, and elderly client work, acting for a diverse client base across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of private client matters from instruction to completion.
  • Advise clients on wills, probate, trusts, inheritance tax planning, and capacity-related issues.
  • Prepare wills, LPAs, trust documentation, and estate accounts.
  • Administer estates, including complex and high-value estates where required.
  • Provide clear, empathetic, and practical legal advice aligned with clients’ personal and financial objectives.
  • Contribute to business development activities and the ongoing growth of the department.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Solicitor with 4+ PQE in private client law (STEP qualification or working towards it is advantageous).
  • Strong technical knowledge of wills, probate, trusts, and estate planning.
  • Excellent drafting, communication, and client care skills.
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Commercially aware, organised, and proactive in driving matters forward.
  • A collaborative team player with a compassionate, client-focused approach.
